Built in 1910, the iconic Dimmeys clocktower will undergo major restoration works in the first half of 2024. Due to over 110 years of exposure to the weather, two of the clock faces will be replaced with toughened glass in keeping with the exisiting ones. There will also be structural remediations works to the balconies, windows and internal fixings to ensure that its structure integrity remains for another hundred years & more.
Subject to Heritage Victoria and City of Yarra approvals there will be minor disruptions on the Green Street side of the building during these scheduled works. As the custodians of the Richmond Icon building, the owners are proud to be given the privilege of preserving a major inner-city landmark in Richmond, Victoria.
